Case Study
Wastewater treatment lagoon liner system for a meat packing operation, providing containment and environmental protection for high-strength processing effluent.
The Challenge
Brown Packing Company's meat processing facility in Ohio needed a robust liner system for its wastewater treatment lagoons to prevent groundwater contamination from high-strength processing effluent. Ohio EPA regulations required documented containment with verified welding integrity and long-term material performance guarantees.
Our Approach
EFI installed an HDPE geomembrane liner system for the wastewater treatment lagoons, providing complete containment of meat processing effluent. The installation included full destructive and non-destructive weld testing, leak detection survey, and a comprehensive QA/QC documentation package meeting Ohio EPA requirements for industrial wastewater lagoon containment.
Outcomes
“The liner installation was completed on schedule and the QA documentation satisfied every Ohio EPA requirement. EFI's attention to weld quality gave us confidence in the long-term integrity of the system.”
