Lining an existing lagoon involves dewatering the lagoon, regrading and preparing the subgrade to a smooth, compacted surface, and then installing the geosynthetic liner system over the prepared base. EFI works with your operations team to schedule work during low-flow periods and minimize disruption. In some cases, partial dewatering or phased construction can keep portions of the system operational during installation. The liner is factory-fabricated in large panels and field-seamed on site for a continuous, leak-free containment system.

Floating covers eliminate 95%+ of odor emissions from wastewater lagoons by creating an impermeable barrier between the lagoon surface and the atmosphere. This is the most effective odor control solution for lagoon systems, especially in populated areas where odor complaints are a concern. EFI designs and installs floating cover systems specifically for odor control applications, and many of our wastewater clients have eliminated all odor-related complaints after cover installation.

Yes. Covered lagoon digesters capture methane produced by anaerobic decomposition of organic waste in wastewater lagoons. An impermeable floating cover with integrated gas collection traps the biogas and directs it to flaring or energy recovery equipment. This converts a greenhouse gas liability into a potential revenue source. EFI has installed 500+ covered lagoon digester systems and can evaluate whether your wastewater lagoon is a candidate for biogas capture.

Lagoon rehabilitation involves replacing aged or damaged liners, repairing subgrade deficiencies, and upgrading containment systems to meet current regulatory standards.
