Aerial Methane Inspection

An EFI aerial methane inspection locates and maps methane releases across a covered lagoon or digester surface using a drone-mounted laser methane sensor and a thermal camera. On the same visit, EFI pulls a spot gas sample from the collection header to read methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hydrogen sulfide, and checks the cover for thermal stress, seam issues, and thickness at spot locations. The result is a single report that shows where gas is escaping, what it is costing, and which parts of the cover to plan for.

No. The aerial survey is flown while the site operates normally, so there is no downtime. The gas sample and cover checks are done during the same visit without taking the system offline.

The sensor pinpoints and maps methane concentrations as the drone flies a grid, so each release is tied to a real location you can walk to. Leak rates are estimated from the sensor readings and the flight path and are confirmed on site before any repair.

You receive one report with three sections: located methane releases and recommended fixes, the value at risk from the gas that is escaping, and an outlook on cover condition and the areas to watch. The annotated flight video comes with every report.
