EFI USA and EC Applications (ECA) have merged. Two companies that have each spent decades installing geosynthetic liners and environmental containment systems are now one organization, combining complementary expertise in environmental construction, geosynthetic membrane installation, and infrastructure delivery. The merger is effective June 8, 2026, and both the EFI and EC Applications brands are retained.
A combined national platform
Together, EFI and ECA form one of the most comprehensive environmental containment companies in the United States. The combined organization serves clients across environmental, agricultural, industrial, and federal sectors with turnkey construction, geosynthetic lining systems, biogas capture and floating covers, wastewater facility construction, and erosion control. EFI brings more than 30 years as a premier installer of biogas and wastewater containment systems from its base in Gaston, South Carolina. EC Applications brings deep expertise in landfill, mining, water, wastewater, and tunnel infrastructure markets from offices in California, Texas, and Nevada. The result is a coast-to-coast team with one of the deepest benches in the country for liners, floating and biogas covers, landfill and pit lining, mining and tunnel liners, wastewater facility construction, and erosion control.
Both brands are here to stay
There is no rebranding and no change to the teams clients already know. Both the EFI and EC Applications names continue in the market, and customers will work with the same people they always have, now backed by the combined resources of both organizations. The two companies have worked alongside each other in geosynthetic installation and environmental containment for roughly 20 years, which makes this a natural next step rather than a departure.
Leadership perspectives
“This merger brings together two organizations that have a long history and have each earned strong reputations in environmental containment construction. The result is an organization built to take on larger, more complex projects in more markets than either company could pursue independently.”
-- Ben Wilson, President, EFI USA
“EC Applications was built on technical excellence and a commitment to safe, sustainable environmental solutions. Joining forces with EFI USA is the natural next step, it gives us the resources and platform to serve more clients and tackle larger, more complex projects across the entire country.”
-- Chris Fore, VP of EC Applications
“The merger of EFI USA and EC Applications represents a defining moment for the Environmental Containment Industry. We are committed to building scaled, best-in-class platforms for cleaner air, cleaner soil, and cleaner water. We are dedicated to supporting this platform with the capital, leadership, and strategic resources necessary to drive continued growth, both organically and through future acquisitions. We see tremendous opportunity to scale this business, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving environmental challenges facing industry, agriculture, and infrastructure nationwide.”
-- Marc Fetten, Owner and Board Member, Persey Holdings
