HDPE Pond Liners

An HDPE pond liner is an impermeable geomembrane made from high-density polyethylene that lines the bottom and sides of a pond, reservoir, or lagoon to stop water loss and protect the underlying soil and groundwater. HDPE is the most widely specified pond liner material because it combines high tensile strength, excellent UV and chemical resistance, and a long service life. EFI fabricates and installs HDPE pond liners from 30 to 100 mil for irrigation, agricultural, aquaculture, decorative, and industrial ponds across 25+ states.

Most ponds use 30 to 60 mil HDPE. Smaller irrigation, agricultural, and decorative ponds on a well-prepared subgrade are typically lined with 30 to 40 mil. Larger reservoirs, regulated containment, and ponds with heavier loads or foot traffic step up to 60 mil or more. Thicker membrane delivers greater puncture resistance and a longer service life but costs more and is heavier to install. EFI's engineers specify the right thickness after a free site assessment of your subgrade, water type, and regulatory requirements.

Yes. HDPE is chemically inert and non-toxic, which is why the same material is used for aquaculture systems, fish farm ponds, and potable water reservoirs.
