Problem
Crisp County's existing landfill cell was filling up and additional space was required to continue receiving refuse. The expansion required constructing and lining a new cell adjacent to the existing one without disrupting ongoing daily operations.
Our Approach
Solution
EFI installed a 60 mil smooth HDPE liner over the subgrade with a tie-in to the existing liner and 800 linear feet of berm flap. EFI also supplied and installed 6-inch diameter leachate collection piping and sumps. The engineer specified the cell expansion design to integrate seamlessly with the existing landfill infrastructure.

- 330,000 SF of HDPE liner installed
- 1,250 LF of leachate collection piping
- Installation accepted by QA company and owner
- New cell began receiving trash immediately upon completion
