The Challenge
Problem
The family dairy collected manure from 650 milking cows and 550 heifers in an earthen lagoon. The 2008 project addressed lagoon odors and methane emissions.
Our Approach
Solution
EFI fabricated and installed the lagoon covers, ballast and biogas collection system. A flare and monitoring system recorded emission reduction parameters. Environmental Credit Corp. helped finance the project through a USDA NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant.
