The Challenge
Problem
La Joya used two open lagoons to receive manure from a full-cycle swine operation. The original case history describes a 15,000-pig operation and a project to replace open-lagoon treatment with lined and covered biodigesters.
Our Approach
Solution
Environmental Fabrics de Mexico supplied the geosynthetic products and performed the liner and cover work for two biodigesters. The original case history names Strickland Engineering, specifies 1.5 mm (60 mil) HDPE and lists a project size of 6,400 m² without separating liner and cover quantities. It describes biogas use for electricity generation and records that the geosynthetic work took a little over a month.
