The Challenge
Problem
The turkey processing plant received two wastewater streams with different flow rates. Its treatment improvements included two covered equalization cells to store and blend those streams before the main treatment process.
Our Approach
Solution
EFI supplied and installed the geomembrane systems: 60 mil HDPE liners and 100 mil HDPE floating covers with ballast weights. The covers were designed to accommodate cell levels ranging from full to nearly empty. The project design also provided retention time for anaerobic pretreatment and separation of fats, oils and grease.
