The Challenge
Problem
The beef packing plant's anaerobic digester had sludge problems, and its existing Seaman 8130 XR-5 cover had reached the end of its useful life. The project called for a replacement cover and a baffle to increase wastewater retention time.
Our Approach
Solution
The worn cover was removed and sludge was taken out of the digester before the new multilayer insulated cover was installed. The case history identifies EFI's scope as fabrication and installation of the insulated cover system, using Seaman 8130 XR-5. It lists a 142 by 276 foot cover and a 142 by 15 foot lagoon baffle, with Rogers and Callcott Engineers Inc. as project engineer.
