The Challenge
Problem
Increased production at the animal by-products plant had overloaded its existing wastewater treatment system. The treatment improvements added a covered anaerobic cell ahead of the existing plant to address the increased load and contain odors.
Our Approach
Solution
EFI completed the geomembrane work using a 60 mil HDPE liner and an insulated 60 mil HDPE cover. The liner provided containment for a cell near a river, while the cover was designed to collect methane and contain odors during anaerobic pretreatment.
