Excel Corporation Cover Repairs, Fort Morgan, CO
EFI performed geomembrane repair work at Excel Corporation's wastewater treatment plant in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The 1996 case history describes rebuilding a damaged floating cover while the treatment cell remained in operation.

The Challenge
Problem
The plant had added two covered anaerobic cells for wastewater pretreatment. One cover was damaged after construction. The damaged material and weights had to be removed before repairs could begin, but the treatment cell could not be taken out of operation.
Our Approach
Solution
EFI provided divers to remove the damaged material from the operating cell, rebuilt its cover and modified the other cover. The case history lists 100 mil HDPE covers and 60 mil HDPE liners for the treatment cells and identifies Wells Environmental Engineering / HDR as the engineer. EFI's documented role was the geomembrane repair work.
